Canterbury

Canterbury is one of the oldest towns in Great-Britain. It is situated on the River Stour. It is a very important religious centre. Lots of pilgrims (pélerins) go there. In 597, Kent was converted to Christianity and St Augustin founded an Episcopal seat in Canterbury. Henry VIII separated from the Roman Catholic Church and founded the Church of England.
